Toolshed is used to store, ask, and use Pruning Shears. Each tree requires 4 or 6 Shears to prune, and you can also buy Heirloom version of any tree in General Store.
How to use Pruning Shears
You can prune an entire grove or an individual tree. Hover over watered tree or click to use Shears in a Toolshed, now click on Pruning Shears image and your tree will be done.
To prune an individual tree inside a grove you have to hover over that same grove, highlight a tree you want to prune and then click on shears image. This can be done only if tree is not ready for harvest. Once the grove is ready for harvest you can only prune an entire grove.
Every tree can be pruned one time after you watered the tree and before you harvest it. You only need to prune a tree once then harvest it a certain amount of times until it becomes an Elder.
Heirloom Trees require the same amount of time as normal trees before they can be harvested.
Once you use Pruning Shears on a tree, you will receive a pop up where you can click to post for more shears. You can also ask for shears inside toolshed.
Heirloom Fruit is used for crafting Heirloom recipes that give more XP and sell at higher price than standard recipes.
With pruning, trees will mature and become an Elder. Elder trees can be stored in your Inventory or sold for Pruning Shears. Selling one tree will give one shear.
Hovering over any tree will show how many harvests are needed for that tree to become Elder.
When a tree turns into an Elder, the pop-up will appear giving you an option to either store that Elder tree or sell it for a Pruning Shear. Click an option you prefer and you are done with your Elder tree. Don't forget to replace Elder tree with a new tree.
