Frito-Lay and Activision announced a promotion today that lets fans participate in creating of the next Skylanders game. This amazing opportunity asks you to choose and name a new hero that will be featured in an upcoming game which is to be released in 2014. Aside from the naming honours, the winner will receive a $100,000 Scholarship which is too tempting to ignore. Enter the competition by visiting fritolay.com/skylanders and hope for the best.
"This is the third consecutive year Frito-Lay has partnered with Activision to bring fans a whole new way to experience Skylanders, while bringing added fun to the snack aisle," said Ram Krishnan, vice president of marketing, Frito-Lay. "This time around, we're taking our collaboration to a new level. We can't wait to see all the creative names families come up with."
There are three potential heroes you can choose from and the promotion is open until March 21, 2014. Choose a hero, suggest its name and submit your entry. Judges will choose one suggested name for each hero in May, following the announcement of the winner later this year. No doubt there will thousands of entries, though there are some rules restricting the naming of heroes.
There is a $100,000 Scholarship involved which should attract numerous fans to the competition. Unfortunately it is open only to United States residents who are 18 or older. The rest of us can follow the promotion, but cannot participate. Hopefully there will be a similar promotion available to the rest of the world, where all Skylanders fans will be able to have a go at naming their favourite hero.
