Letter Grid is a free game for iOS and Android devices. It is a crossword-puzzle combination where players get only one clue and have to figure out other words themselves.

In Letter Grid you are given letters and have to form a set number of words by using those same letters. For instance, you have words A, P, L and E and have to put down 1 five letter word, and 2 three letter ones. The easiest way to solve it is to form the longest word on a grid then work on the rest of them.
All words form consecutive boxes, either horizontally or vertically and must be proper English words. You cannot just make them up and hope to get it done. When you have entered a valid word, its letters will turn white and you can continue to another one. Clues are scarce, you are mostly given just one and have to figure out which word it relates to. It was written like a short story and each new clue reveals little more on it. After playing all 50 levels in a free version, this is one of the few games that will remain on my phone. It can be played anywhere, on a lunch break, while waiting for your favourite TV show to continue after commercials, or at any other time you just want to relax. The best part of it is that you can replay levels as many times as you like and try to find out new words that would fit into a grid.
The game consists of 50 levels, though 20 more can be purchased. It is similar to a criss-cross puzzle, except that you are not given words that need to be created. Could be seen as a brain challenge, though I was really relaxed while solving crosswords. The music might have something to with it as it reminds of a meditation soundtrack that I heard on a TV so many times before. Even though puzzles sound simple, it makes you use your brain to fit in words in the right spot on a grid.
Developer Chong Kok Seng created yet another addictive game featuring words. His other titles such as Word Edge, Word Bridge and Letter Hound can all be found on App Store and Google Play. As well as other titles that have no connection to word puzzles. Letter Grid is a good casual game for any occasion. Try the game on your iOS or Android device.
