Microsoft is considering to reward Xbox Live users who show good manners and contribute to the community. Another step in an effort to improve gaming experience.
Don't forget to like us on FACEBOOK, thanks so much!
The plan is to give rewards to Xbox One users who contribute through their online interactions in a positive way. Until now, those with bad manners will simply penalized, but Microsoft is looking to change the approach to users’ experience and to “actively encourage them to be better”. The future Xbox Live updates will have this new feature, as announced at GDC 2014.
Frank Savage, development lead at Microsoft, revealed company’s plan during presentation at GDC which was aimed at ID@Xbox developers.
If your reputation is "soaring because you're this amazing player that everyone wants to be with," Xbox Live's reputation algorithm may recognize that and dole out unspecified rewards. It's Microsoft's way of saying, "Thanks for being such a good member of the community, here's a reward," Savage said.
The new reputation system seems different that the Microsoft’s Xbox Community Level one, which focuses on actions from the existing Xbox Community Ambassadors initiative.
The rewards haven’t been determined yet, but it clear that Microsoft is aiming to improve gamers’ behaviour, by offering goodies to those who are willing to be better members of the gaming community.
"It's Microsoft's way of saying, "Thanks for being such a good member of the community, here's a reward," said Savage.
Many players don’t bother getting into teams with people they haven’t met, simply because that usually means annoying experience due to the language and behaviour of other members. With the new feature it could all change. If you do not want to team up with jerks and trolls, you might have an option to check player’s reputation before teaming up with them. Great way to get more users on Xbox and its Live feature, and to put an end to those who go online just for the sake of annoying others.
