Mob Wives star Karen Gravano, the daughter of a retired mobster ‘Sammy the Bull’, is suing Rockstar saying Grand Theft Auto 5 ripped off her life.

Karen Gravano claims her image and life story have been sued in Grand Theft Auto 5 game without her permission. The $40 million lawsuit has been filed against the game’s publisher Rockstar by Karen who stars in the reality show Mob Wives. She claims that game’s featured character Antonia Bottino is based on her image and life.
Papers filed by her lawyer at Manhattan Supreme Court states that “Notwithstanding the fact that plaintiff has the utmost respect for the writers and creators of the Grand Theft Auto V video game… her story is unique and is hers to tell.” Gravano is asking for $20 million in compensation and another $20m in punitive damages.
In Grand Theft Auto 5 game, Bottino reveals that she is a daughter of the retired Gambetti crime family underboss Sammy Botino, who quit his gangster life and became a witness as part of a plea bargain, Sammy denies his daughter to participate in a TV show called Wise Bitches. In real life, Sammy refuses Karen is a daughter of Sammy Gravano, and Gambino crime family underboss and has quit his gangster life. He is a witness as part of a plea bargain. Karen Gravano is a star in Mob Wives. The resemblance is there, though it could still be a coincidence. It is up to court to decide.
The lawsuit also says that Rockstar could have asked Karen’s permission “with relative ease, which may have (averted) this action”. The publisher of Grand Theft Auto 5 stated they do not comment on legal matters, although we might still hear from them pretty soon.
The game was fast-selling title in the history which drew a lot of attention. It was reported in December that Lindsay Lohan was building a lawsuit against game’s makers, claiming her likeness was stolen for the latest instalment of the game.
