Quickfire Games is working on an innovative farming game called Wild Season. They got inspiration from games such as Animal Crossing, Rune Factory, and few others. Wild Season does share the same concept and mechanics, but differs in its approach.
The story will revolve around the main character (meaning you) and their lives in a big city. An unfortunate circumstances resulted in your loss of home and most of the possessions. Feeling down, you are on your way back home when you notice an amazing deal on an old farm which is not far from your old home. This is a perfect opportunity for a fresh start and you decided to buy the farm.
With your mood improved you arrive to the farm, but it’s not all that easy. Townsfolk are nice although distant, and seems like the town is hiding a secret. Dark feeling is coming from the forest, what could it be.
How does Wild Season Game Differs
Character driven story – each character has their own history, distinct personalities, internal conflicts, and issues.
A more mature undertone – characters will have to deal with various issues such as drinking problems and crisis of conscience.
Having friends in the town is not just for the achievements, if you don’t like someone make them your enemy.
Off-Duty Activities – apart from running and maintain a farm, players will enjoy other activities like dating, learning to cook, job, and many more other social activities.
Contextual relationship building – NPC’s will know if you come out for drinks in the evening, if you are for example antisocial, or even if you begin to pester them.
Political System – You can help to shape the direction of your town by joining the town council.
Use of technology – players will be able to use technologies such as cellphones to help manage and automate their relationships and farms.
Players will have an opportunity to breed dogs and horses for races.
Wild Season sounds like a good farming game. Not like those we play on Facebook, but more of a story-driven game where players improve their characters and learn new skills by experience. Kickstarter project is open and it has a lot more information on the game, including screenshots and rewards system for backing it.
