Google wants to make its headset stylish and trendy. Luxottica, Italian eyewear designer which owns world famous brands like Ray-Ban and Oakley, has revealed plans to design and distribute a new kind of the technologically advanced Google Glass headset.
“We believe it is high time to combine the unique expertise, deep knowledge and quality of our group with the cutting-edge technology expertise of Google and give birth to a new generation of revolutionary devices,” Luxottica Group CEO Andrea Guerra said.
In the same statement, Luxottica said the two companies would work together to create an innovative wearable devices for the Google brand. Google Glass is a small screen attached to a pair of eyeglass frames. It can do many things such as access email, retrieve information from the Internet and record videos, which can actually get you into trouble if you were wearing this highly advanced glasses in the cinema.
There is a concern over possible privacy intrusion and piracy regarding Google Glass. Although many believe that wearable computers are the next big thing in technology. Glass won't be seen as a nerd accessory anymore.
